Did you know one of our osteopaths Rose also practises dry needling?
Dry needling is commonly used by therapists to deactivate and help loosen trigger points within a tight muscle using a fine acupuncture needle.
Chronic muscle tension and spasm can cause reduced oxygen and nutrients supply to the muscles which can result in abnormal function and fatiguing. Dry needling can promote blood flow and growth factors to facilitate healing.
Dry needling can also be used to strengthen tendons and ligaments by inducing a local inflammatory response which activates healing.
Rose uses dry needling in conjunction with her regular osteopathic treatments if deemed helpful to your condition.
